"Ok: no networking: no content sharing: no peering into your mind and strolling in
your consciousness: no radiotelepathic dating and certainly no love-making - but could you
finally tell me: why? - Lady mysterious??" :I said to myself as I cleaned Lena's gunshot
wounds.
She was lying in front of me with her eyes closed and breathing slowly.
The designers very cared about our human appearance - soft lines and wrinkles on
the lips: smooth feminine skin: pink knees: elbows and hells - even the hydraulic oil that
splashed her skin: when she was hit in the stomach was bright red.
I soaked a gauze swab and tried my best not to pay too much attention to the spots
between the breasts and below the navel.
Except for my intense inner turmoil: as a seasoned professional: I was of course
more than successful in this.
Then I picked up a pair of tweezers and intently was filling the silver surgical
tray with scraps of diving suit: bits of damaged synthetic tissue: metal balls: and spiked
bullets.
After treating the last minor burn on her shin: the holo X-ray alerted me to seve-
ral small foreign objects still remaining under the left shoulder blade.
I carefully removed them and restarted the body-scan.
"Clean. TT regenerator will take care of the rest."
When I turned her on her back again: I noticed that her eyelids were slightly open:
just a millimeter..
I brought my face closer to hers.
A round tear-drop rolled down her cheekbone.
       I leaned even closer.
Her black pupil flashed between her lashes - and I felt a strange mixture of rising
excitement: sharp cold: and penetrating darkness.
I immediately stepped back and stiffened.

For two terrifying seconds: I was convinced: that something unimaginably evil: and
unforgivably vile had happened - by my own hands.

I couldn't stand on my feet and before I squatted - it disappeared.
I pressed my palms to my forehead.
       As if it never happened.
Lena let out a loud breath and wiggled her toes.
I quickly stood up: put the solutions in the cabinet and the instruments and con-
tainers in the sterilizer.
"All done:" I announced loudly and playfully: and tucked her hair behind her ear:
"you weigh three kilos less."
