In the first-aid kit: the woman had on her belt: I found some hemostatic powder: which
I sprinkled on my ear stump and other wounds. There must have been epinephrine or something:
because I suddenly felt great.
I think: I even smiled: when I heard the clatter of gear and the stomping of many feet
from the entrance.
I jumped into the bushes and crawled away from the path as fast as possible.
"Doctor Minor: I urge you to leave cover and surrender immediately:" a high-pitched
male voice shouted.
       I froze.
"If you don't do it right away:" continued the man: "not only you: but also your
friend will pay for it with her life. I'll count to ten. One."
       I quietly turned around.
       "Two."
I craned my neck and squinted my eyes: but I couldn't see anything through the stems
and leaves.
       "Three."
I crawled closer and carefully unfolded the ferns.
       "Four."
Seven soldiers in black special forces uniforms gathered in front of the fountain.
One of them had his hands behind his back and was theatrically counting.
       "Five."
Another of them held a woman by the shoulders with her hands tied and her face bloo-
died.
       "Six."
The others watched the surroundings with pointed weapons.
       "Seven."
The woman was Alia: "Run Andrea: don't trust him: he will kill us anyway:" shouted.
"That's likely: but not inevitable:" said the man affectedly and took a revolver out
of its holster: "eight."
       He aimed at Alia's head.
       "Nine."
"Ok: I'm here:" I shouted and ran out of the thicket with my hands raised.
"Very well. Tie her up:" the man said contentedly and put the gun back in his belt:
"you have decorated the poor corporal nicely. Flowers in the eyes: love in the heart. This is
already in the category of noble art. Isn't it? The famous and learned representative of the
omniwise and respectable academy: Madam Minor:" he walked around the dead body and enjoyed its
details: "We'll make a record here. Lieutenant.."
The soldier standing to his right pulled a small camera out of his pocket and stepped
back.
       "Ready for your command: sir."
From the Admiral's long speech: full of lies dressed in half-truths: and embellished
with facts and numbers: I only remembered the most twisted and most absurd sentence:
"For the deliberate spread of the deadly disease: ruthless crimes against humanity:
destruction: looting and poisoning of Planet - the court martial sentenced the principal of
the academy: Rector Mastern: and the discoverer: and the main carrier of the blight: Doctor
Andrea Minor to death by firing squad - the execution will be carried out at one minute after
midnight."
