It's so godlike: to create all night
and in the morning smile meaningfully in the mirror
and compare yourself to the nocturnal Photoblepharon fish:
which also have luminous circles under their eyes:
       To stand under the shower as if under a high fountain:
          to engage in a lively whale conversation with the Mantas and
              have it explained: what it means to be colossal and to spread out

The Herring and its hundred thousand twins will turn aside
like a single piece of silver
- unanimously -
but still: one of them was The Herring
- we terribly desire to be It -
And your motionless: bushy little horse
still presides honorably over that vast company of wise creatures
                                          who consider for most ambitious
                                                 to let themselves be overlooked all their lives:
